Role Description

Oasis is offering a new session on Friday mornings and is seeking resourceful volunteers for a range of duties supporting fun and educational activities with babies and toddlers to deliver this. Front of house, cafe, setting up and waiting on roles needed.

Suitability: Suitable for 18 year olds and over

Benefit to the volunteer

Volunteers join a mutually supportive team that is welcoming to new people and families. While expenses are not given for travel or food, our cafe offers a range of snacks that are available to volunteers for free during the session.

You will receive

Induction and training, Regular support supervision, Volunteer Handbook

Volunteers are asked to complete or provide: Application form, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, Reference(s), Informal discussion (may include an interview)
Activities: Art and Design, The role of a volunteer at Oasis is varied including setting up and putting away toys, and generally keeping the play area safe. All our non-kitchen staff undertake some waiting on duties, while there is also time to play with toddlers
Skills: Arts and Crafts, Cleaning and Tidying, While having creative skills that you can share with children would be an advantage, it is not essential, and you can pick this up from other volunteers and staff. The main attribute is to have an outgoing personality and a willingness to 'muck in'.
