Volunteer Driver For Senior Citizens (monthly)

Role Description

Collect one or two older people from their homes and drive them to and from a community venue.
Drivers are welcome to stay at the group to enjoy free refreshments, chat and activities.

Type of Activity: Ad-hoc, Ongoing, Suitable for individuals to apply, In person volunteering

Suitability: Suitable for 18 year olds and over

Time commitment

2-3 hours a month

Availability: Wednesday Morning

Inclusion Statement: This vital role helps older people to get to a monthly group where they enjoy chatting and meeting new people.
Volunteer drivers make a positive difference, and this is an excellent way to give something back to the community.
The group takes places on the second Wednesday morning in every month.

Volunteers are asked to complete or provide: Application form, ID Check, Reference(s), Informal discussion (may include an interview)
Activities: Befriending, Buddying and Mentoring, Driving (must have full licence)
Skills: Basic IT, Organising and Planning, UK Driving Licence, Friendly and reliable
Able to make conversation with senior citizens
