Civil Emergency Response Volunteer (ERV)

Role Description

We are looking for volunteers who will be prepared in the event of an emergency situation to provide support to the emergency services if required within the Borough of Bury.

The role is varied but may include:
- Helping to staff a rest centre for an incident.
- Door knocking to warn communities of ongoing incidents.
- Helping at a donation point for those who may need support.
- Driving supplies to a site or to individuals who may be unable to leave their homes.
- Being aware of the risks that your community might face.
- Identifying which members of your community might be vulnerable in an emergency, and be prepared to offer assistance if required

You don’t need any experience to be an ERV, we will give you any necessary support and training to do your role.

Skills: Admin, Basic IT, Organising and Planning, You don’t need any experience to be an ERV, we will give you any necessary support and training to do your role. Having a car isn’t a necessity, as long as you are prepared to travel to where the incident occurs or support individuals in your local area with humanitarian assistance.
