Role Description
About the Role:
As a Volunteer Pool Support Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in helping maintain and grow a responsive and engaged pool of volunteers ready to support the local community. You will provide essential support in managing volunteer registrations, liaising with prospective volunteers and organisations, and ensuring smooth communication and coordination within the volunteer network. Your efforts will help Bury VCFA deliver timely and effective volunteer services to voluntary and community groups across the borough.
Purpose of the Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide vital support to volunteers by promoting, engaging with, registering, and assisting in the smooth operation of the Bury Volunteer Pool. Your work will contribute to delivering effective volunteer support services to the Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Bury
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Following up on volunteer registrations in the Volunteer Pool to ensure volunteers understand and engage with our service
2.Acting as a liaison between prospective volunteers and voluntary organisations to help resolve any issues
3.Providing high-quality customer support to volunteers via telephone, online platforms, and face-to-face communication
4.Responding to volunteer enquiries in a timely, friendly, and proactive manner
5.Supporting potential volunteers in applying for opportunities, including contacting volunteer-involving organisations on their behalf when needed
6.Working closely with the Volunteering Development Officer to complete all administrative procedures in line with Bury VCFA’s standards
7.Undertaking additional tasks as required, based on organisational needs and your individual skills and experience
Type of Activity: Ongoing, Suitable for individuals to apply
Suitability: Suitable for 16 and 17 year olds, Suitable for 18 year olds and over
Time commitment
Regular support, ideally 2-3 hours a week

1. Be punctual and reliable, notifying the Volunteering Development Officer promptly if you are unable to attend your scheduled hours

4. Follow and comply with all Bury VCFA policies, procedures, and quality standards
