Role Description

Lots of new volunteers start out as a helper at regular unit meetings. You’ll work alongside other volunteers to give girls fun, friendship, challenge and adventure. There's no responsibility for planning in this role but you'll be the extra pair of hands needed to make unit meetings happen. Register your interest to find out about unit helper roles near you

Time commitment

Usually one meeting a week 1hr-1.5hrs during term time.

Availability: Monday Evening, Tuesday Evening, Wednesday Evening, Thursday Evening, Friday Evening

Role Location: We have Units throughout Bury who meet on different evenings and at different locations. However we are particularly looking for volunteers who can help in the Brandlesholme Area
Ward: Bury East/Central (Elton, Moorside, Redvales)

Activities: Primary School Age Work (5 to 11 year olds), Youth Work (12 to 25 year olds)
Skills: Arts and Crafts, Creative and Design, Reading and Writing, Good listening and communication - To help your unit leaders and other volunteers deliver great guiding for girls.
Attention to detail - But there is a great team to support you.
Knowing when to ask for help - But remember there is a network of other volunteers and commissioners
to help you with any questions.
Willingness to learn - Learning as you go to keep your skills fresh.
