Afternoon Teas Kitchen Volunteer (Cover)

Role Description

Our afternoon teas for over-50s in the Whitefield area takes place every first and third Tuesday per month, and is run entirely by volunteers, working either in the kitchen or front of house. Kitchen volunteers are needed primarily as cover when existing team members are unavailable.

Our kitchen volunteers:
· Make sandwiches using prepared fillings
· Prepare cakes, scones, cream and jam
· Assemble cake stands containing teas
· Prepare tea and coffee and fill milk jugs
· Wash up
· Tidy cutlery and crockery away

Type of Activity: Ongoing

Suitability: Suitable for 18 year olds and over

Time commitment

2.5 hours

Benefit to the volunteer

You will join a welcoming and supportive team of Oasis volunteers. On a sessional basis you will be mentored and supported by your co-workers, overseen by the Oasis Volunteer Coordinator.

Volunteers are asked to complete or provide: Application form, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, Reference(s), Informal discussion (may include an interview)

Full training, including food & hygiene, will be given.
