Role Description
The Mellor Fund is a charity set up to help with relief of financial hardship and ill-health by providing grants, items and services to persons resident in Whitefield, Unsworth or Radcliffe who are in circumstances of financial hardship and are suffering from ill-health. We are seeking 4 to 5 new Trustees to join our team and help to manage the Mellor Fund. This voluntary position is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your community by supporting those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
· Application Review: Assist in managing and assessing (approximately 30 per year) applications to the fund.
· Meetings: Attend four meetings per year held locally to discuss fund operations, decisions, and applications.
· Communication: Collaborate with other Trustees via email for day-to-day decision-making and updates.
· Administration: Support the administrative aspects of the fund, ensuring timely and effective processing of applications.
· Purchasing: Once an application has been approved the item or service is purchased.
Type of Activity: Ongoing, Suitable for individuals to apply, In person volunteering
Suitability: Suitable for 18 year olds and over
Time commitment
Quarterly meetings (approximately 2 hours each) and 1–2 hours per month for email communications and administrative tasks
