Choosing Your Legal Structure

In this interactive in-person session, you will learn about the different types of legal structure and which one is best for your organisation.

Wondering what might be the right legal structure for your Voluntary, Community or Social Enterprise organisation?

This session will explore the options available and, using real world examples, help you to evaluate what might be the right legal structure and governance for your organisation.

Everything from community groups to CICs, charities, co-operative structures and more.

This session will also explore how being a sole trader (self-employed) can be a legitimate legal form in the development and growth for a social enterprise.

This workshop will be led by Adrian Ashton, an award-winning Charity and Enterprise consultant. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in the sector, Adrian will inform, inspire and support you to explore the different options available for your organisation.

You can expect:

- The 'select-a-Structure' quiz - What do you need from your legal structure and what legal structures are available. What are their pros and cons?

- Exploring Governance - what it is and why is it important? What might be right for you?

The workshop will be interactive, with lots of opportunity to discuss your business, in a forum with peers from the local VCSE sector in Bury.

This practical session will look at the pros and cons of the different types of legal structure to help you decide which is best for your organsiation.

By the end of the session you will have further understanding on the best type of legal structure for your organisation.
