Children Awareness Safeguarding Training Course

Come and join us to get the most up to date information relating to children safeguarding!

As a volunteer organisation, it is common to support families who may have some vulnerabilities, but what about the children within that family? Do you know what to do if you find out about a safeguarding issue? What about if you see something not right but not sure what to do? Why not attend our session to learn more!

The session covers:

  • Definition of children safeguarding
  • Identifying the nature/extent of abuse
  • Outlining the different categories of abuse
  • Equipping participants with the knowledge of their role and responsibilities with regard to safeguarding for their organisation and providing them with the knowledge to confidently make a referral
  • Scenarios related to the VCSE sector to consolidate learning.

By the end of the session you will have further understanding of the types of safeguarding needs and how to report any concerns to Bury Council.

Who is this session for?

The training is for volunteers working with Bury-based Volunteer, Community & Faith Organisations, who provide support, information, advice and guidance or activities to children on a regular basis.

Please ensure you only allow two people per organisation.  If you need more, please contact us to either be put on the waiting list, or for a bespoke training session.

All participants will get a certificate of attendance.
