Adult Safeguarding Awareness Training
As a volunteer organisation, it is common to support adults who may have some vulnerabilities. Do you know what to do if you find out about a safeguarding issue? Why not attend our session to learn more!
The session covers:
• Definition of adult safeguarding
• Understanding what is meant by the term ‘an adult at risk’
• Identifying the nature/extent of abuse
• Outlining the different categories of abuse
• Equipping participants with the knowledge of their role and responsibilities with regard to safeguarding for their organisation and providing them with the knowledge to confidently make a referral
• An overview of the latest DBS guidance
• Scenarios to consolidate learning.
By the end of the session, you will have further understanding of what types of adult safeguarding issues there are and also how to report. We will also offer a certificate of attendance.
Who is this session for?
The training is for volunteers working with Bury-based Volunteer, Community & Faith Organisations, who provide support, information, advice and guidance or activities to adults on a regular basis.
Please be aware that we can only allow two people per organisation.
