Microaggressions and Courageous Conversations
Microaggressions are an example of subtle, indirect discrimination against marginalised groups. They are small acts of prejudice which expose the speaker’s biases and can have negative repercussions on the lives of the recipients.
This session helps you to see where microagressions could impact your work and give you tools on how to manage them.
By the end of the training, the delegates will be able to:
-
define micro-aggressions and understand their impact on individuals and workspaces.
-
identify different types of micro-aggressions through real-life examples. • use tools and strategies to challenge and address micro-aggressions effectively.
-
develop confidence in initiating and managing courageous conversations around discrimination and inclusion.
-
apply techniques to create fairer and more inclusive organisational cultures.
-
understand the legal frameworks and responsibilities around EDI.
This training is delivered by Equality and Diversity UK, a recognised provider of equality, diversity and inclusion training and who work with organisations from across the public, private and VCSE sectors to support implementation of good quality equality and diversity practice.
