Whitefield Connections - Focus on GM Live Well & Social Prescribing
Join us for the next Whitefield Connections meeting to meet other Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations working in Whitefield!
This meeting is aimed at any Voluntary, Community or Social Enterprise group based in or working in the Whitefield Neighbourhood. The session will be facilitated by Owen Hewson, Capacity Building Development Officer at Bury VCFA.
The session will include an update from Helen Tomlinson (Chief Officer at Bury VCFA) on the Greater Manchester Live Well Programme with a specific focus on the opportunities becoming available for Whitefield VCSE groups and the communities they serve.
GM Live Well is part of the Mayor’s Manifesto to ensure that people can access support within their neighbourhoods to live a healthy, happy life. Key elements of this work include ensuring that it is community-led, with a vibrant voluntary sector. In addition to supporting the development of Live Well centres and spaces at the heart of communities, providing support to residents when and how they need it. – Join our meeting to find out more!
We are also delighted to welcome Jenni and Susan from The Wildlife Trust who will talk about the Green Social Prescribing activity that is happening around Whitefield. Jenni and Susan are really keen to meet local VCSE groups in Whitefield at this event. Beyond Green Social Prescribing activities, Jenni and Susan will talk about the wider Social Prescribing work happening around the neighbourhood.
